+ : Refrigerator, airco (must be turned off when leaving though, otherwise it's too expensive), warm shower, roof over your head, fence in front of the property & partly barb wire around the upper floor, which is a plus because the area didn't feel safe at all.- : The area didn't feel safe at all (glass from car break-ins, car wrecks, abandoned homes, etc.). I was the only one in the building at night. The front of the balcony doesn't have barb wire, and someone could easily climb from the alley between the property and the abandoned house next to it into the building, not a comforting thought, especially since the door of my room didn't close well. The noise of the street was terrible, the (single glass) windows they have placed have NOT solved this problem, the non-stop traffic runs right next to your head, even ear plugs didn't help enough. The room wasn't clean (e.g. bath mats looked as if they hadn’t been washed in years), and in my 10 nights (!) stay it has been cleaned ONCE after much, much debate. Terrible. Owner was in Aruba and the cleaning lady apparently wasn't aware she was supposed to clean my room, even though she knew I was there, because the first day she banged on my door very loudly when I told her I was still in the room. On top of that, she took the toilet paper away (who does that??) and I didn't have toilet paper for 4 days. Owner said they always take the toilet paper away once it's opened, but I think that was a poor excuse given how frugal they were with everything. Owner later said there should be toilet paper in a kitchen cabinet, but I had just turned the whole kitchen upside down the night before in search for toilet paper and didn’t find any. There was 1 light in the room, which was an energy saving lamp with very cold light. Made the room not a pleasant place to be in, as if being in a shed. On top of that the wifi was non existent, that is, if the signal could be detected at all, the 'speed' was practically equal to zero, I couldn't even check my bank account. So I felt really locked up inside in the evenings, because the area seemed too dangerous to leave the building in the evening, in a room that wasn't clean, with poor lighting and no internet to make any plans for the next day, let alone read something or watch a movie. All the owner (who kept calling me by a wrong name) could say was that other people were content with their stays. ? What does that have to do with how unpleasant my stay was? Very poor excuse. I will never stay here again, nor recommend it to anyone. Could rather flush my money directly down the drain. It was truly a terrible experience, I travel so much, but I have never been so happy to finally be able to leave. It wasn't very expensive, but for this experience, the money spent was a waste of money.
