NIGHTMARE/SCAM! Don’t book with Expedia either. We tried to contact the hotel, number not in service, no response to email. When we arrived at Yeshua at 5pm, and there was no one at the property but a guest scrubbing chairs. She informed us that the worker was at Karnival. The woman we encountered was a family member of the owner Pamela, who she reported was away as a minister on another island. As there was no way to reach anyone, we were able to get a working phone number through her.We reached a staff named Christalia who told us we could only stay if we paid for our 6 nights in cash (in addition to what we were already charged by expedia) as she claimed there was no confirmation of the booking by Expedia. When we contacted Expedia it took them hours to get a hold of Yeshua staff due to the owner of the resort being out of the country. Expedia did not have a working number either. While we waited we sat in the dark parking lot of Yeshua with not lights. After lots of waiting and nervousness, Expedia let us know the owner would “upgrade” our room to apartment B as an apology. We left Yeshua around 6pm and were told to come back in 1.5 hours to check in. We returned at 9pm to meet Christalia and the relative of the owner making the bed of the room and spraying Lysol (Maybe what was considered cleaning). Christalia told us she wouldn’t make up the second bedroom as we only booked a one bedroom. She left in a hurry without helping us at all. The condition of the room was scary… so dirty with mold on things, leaky toilet, hundreds on mosquitos coming in through cracks and broken windows, cockroaches, exposed wiring, brown and moldy bedding. The decription of this hotel states is has a “pillow menu.” What a joke. We were exhausted, scared and got up at 5am to try and cancel in the morning. When tried to cancel and the owner refused. This was after hours of multiple contacts with Expedia again. We spoke to a male Expedia worker who kept us on hold for over 45 minutes. When we hung up he didn’t even call back as promised. We just received an email our refund had been refused. We were able to reach Pamela once more to report the stove not working, then she turned off her phone and stopped responding to us. The power meter in the room got so low it beeped repeatedly. Expedia did not help us with a refund. We are teachers and saved and saved for our honeymoon. We didn’t feel as though we could afford to just leave the rental without a refund for another hotel. We hope this review will help other travelers to at least know what this experience is like. We didn't take photos. We hope to forget the horrific memories of this part of our trip. Don’t book here. In fact, don’t use EXPEDIA either, the customer service is criminal and irresponsible to work with a hotel like this. Book directly with the airline and the resort you choose.
