Wilhelminaplein in Curacao
Wilhelminaplein is a pleasant square located in the middle of the Punda district. It is known for the pleasant terraces of Pleincafe Wilhelmina and Eetcafe de Buren, among others. The well-known large Dushi and Caracao letters are also on this square. The colorful letters are very popular among tourists to take a picture with.
Wilhelminaplein is very central, the merchant quay, many restaurants, museums and other sights are all within walking distance. In less than five minutes you can reach the famous Queen Emma bridge, also known as the Pontjesbrug or Swinging old lady. The floating market can also be easily reached on foot from Wilhelminaplein. For the people who come by car, please note: Punda is the only neighborhood on Curacao where you pay parking costs. It is not expensive to park, but not paying can immediately result in a wheel.
If you are looking for a nice place to have breakfast, lunch or dinner, the Wilhelminaplein is definitely recommended. Check our Google Maps page for all restaurants on Wilhelminaplein.
