Well, I will be visiting on Friday with friends and family so I will update you all on my review. Will give details as they come....stay tuned.Update:So I had an overall good experience. Their drinks were great, breakfast, lunch, and dinner was always so much to choose from.I had an issue with the soap and shampoo not being replenished. At the start of our stay we got our rooms with 2 tiny soaps which we made work cause it was double occupancy. To which everyday they changed towels but no extra soap or shampoo. So we had to buy when we went out. Other than that there was live entertainment on different days or a dj was there.Would definitely stay again.
Today we went to Kunuku with the family on a day pass. Once inside, we had to wait 45 minutes in line just to get our wristbands. The receptionist was a very nice lady.I then realized that I forgot an item in my car that was parked outside. I walked to the gatekeeper to tell him that I was retrieving said item, and he proceeded to tell me that if I leave the premisses, I was not allowed back inside unless I told him what I was retrieving in my car. I told him that I was just getting an ‘item’ and it is a non consumable item, so there’s no need to be so draconic.Once back inside, I went to the receptionist to ask whether it’s the policy for the gatekeeper to pry in such a manner, and once she called him, he replied that it’s the company policy and that it’s always been like that. I went to look into the ‘Algemene voorwaarden’ and no such rule or policy was found in there. No such rule or policy was written anywhere the naked eye could see either, so it seems like the gatekeeper imposes his own policy and rules on guests.Overall, it’s quite a nice resort, but the service is lagging. If you go to get a drink at the blue bar and greet the bartender with a ‘bondia’ or a ‘bontardi’, they just keep looking at you and you don’t get a reply other than a ‘ja’ as if they are talking to someone they went to school with. A simple ‘hello’ would also suffice, but the vibe you get is as if they are doing you a favour and not rendering a service that is paid for. It was however noted that foreign guests were better treated. The girl that helped me in the morning was very nice though. She was a bit more dark toned and had some type of braids in her hair if I’m not mistaken.Regarding the token system, we found it quite burdensome to walk all the way to the reception to continue buying tokens. If there’s a possibility to pay at the bars ( i.e. exclusively accepting card payments), we would’ve bought a lot more consumable items. If you’re looking for an affordable and fun resort full of water slides but don’t mind the mediocre service by some of the employees, kunuku resort is the place for you. Overall a 5.5 out of 10.
Have spent a weekend at kunuku Aqua Resort. Our experience was good. The room was nice. There's Al of t pools to choose from, and there is an option for many ages. Small slides for babies and toddlers and bigger ones for the older kids and adults.
I stayed at this hotel resort from 19-23 April 2024 with my daughter and husband. I paid USD 100 deposit which was supposed to be refunded upon departure. Upon departure I was told that since I paid by credit card I will be refunded 2 weeks later. To date I have NOT received my refund and only got a 'run around' after emailing the hotel several times....NOT GOOD AT ALL for guests to be treated this way. I hesitate to send any of my family and friends there now....
2 star cause of the family room suite we were in was gorgeous, the potential here was awesome.Location yes need car ( which we had) it’s in middle of nowhere.Food ,watch your times it’s not available all the time.we struggled with this.We have a 9 year old , yes chicken nuggets fries and pizza were options, after this everyday we went off resort to eat.The buffet was not set up for most kids I know, even my older daughter had issues.Slides would be fun ,not enough water down a few ,the biggest fastest ,funest one for older kids isn’t open all the time ,people don’t watch their kids which made it annoying and unsafe.Front desk only open till 10 we arrived late and after struggling to find somewhere to eat, were closed and we found out hubby’s bracelet thing didn’t work, and mind stopped working for some reason after using the robot bar tender ( this was cool, but broke after using twice )In short was ok, but we wouldn’t come back.
We enjoyed our stay at Kunuku Aqua Resort. The staff is great (we don't understand complaints in other reviews). The location was wonderful - just in the middle of the island, close to everything. Some people complain that food is basic. For my partner, it was enough. I am vegetarian and the chefs tried to prepare a separate meal for me (I've got beyond meat burger, some veggie schnitzels and falafels, with super big salads and extras). The pools were carefully cleaned every morning. We can only recommend this place. 🙂
Definitely getting your money's worth, you can get drinks and food pretty much all day long (even all the cocktails are included in the price). The only downfall I think is the service. People don't seem particularly friendly or excited to be working there in general. Not a lot of excited and friendly communication. Aside from that, definitely had a great week here!
Stayed at this resort from 3/29 to 4/6. Family friendly all inclusive resort that definitely caters to families. The resort doubles as a water park as well. The slides look fun but there were two slides that I would get stuck in and would have to pull myself down the slide. Multiple pools for varying ages (I believe there were 5 in total).Staff was okay but none of them felt super friendly with the exception of the female staff member who checked is out at the end of our stay. There is a security guard that maintains control of the front gate 24/7.Food was okay but you will definitely get bored and you will probably want to eat out every now and then to spicy things up.The nightly entertainment at the pizza restaurant (limited pizza options but all inclusive as well) was pleasant but nothing spectacular.Additionally, they often ran out certain food items (specifically the snacks served in between breakfast, lunch, and dinner). As for the alcohol, it is all inclusive but cocktail menu is limited and they often ran out of items to make some of the drinks.Rooms were perfect but be aware the is only air conditioning in the bedrooms. The common areas (living room and kitchen) are not air conditioned and you will have to leave windows open. We had no issues with mosquitoes during our stay and we had our windows and doors open the entire time. Also, another important detail is that rooms are only cleaned 2 times a week (not an issue as long as you clean up after yourselves).Location is okay but you definitely need a rental car.Biggest issue we had was the AC in our queen size bedroom did not work. We asked staff to fix it three times. The first time we asked to get it fixed, we were told someone would come out but no one ever did. The second time, we asked one of the staff members who was dropping of towels if they could forward our request again. The staff member said we had to go to the front desk. We asked a third time, and we were offered a fan and told a technician would come out at 2pm the following day. No one ever came. Unfortunately, it was to hot to sleep in the room even with a fan and by that point our 8 day stay was pretty much over. We will be requesting a price adjustment seeing as we never got to use the bedroom and pretty much had a 2 bedroom suite instead of a 3. We will update you all once we hear back from the resort. All in all, the resort is family friendly and budget friendly. You will enjoy your time here. This place has so much potential and hopefully they step up their game with the food and customer service.I add some photos of our suite. I apologize in advance for the messy rooms but I took the pictures as we leaving to checkout.Feel free to reach out if you want more details.
Absolutely breathtaking experience at Kunuku Aqua Resort! From the moment we arrived, we were treated like royalty. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, always going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. The resort itself is a paradise – beautifully landscaped grounds, pristine pools, and luxurious accommodations. The highlight for us was the water park – endless fun for both kids and adults alike. The dining options were also fantastic, with a wide variety of delicious food to choose from. Overall, our stay exceeded all expectations, and we can't wait to return. Highly recommend!
Nice little all-inclusive that is very reasonably priced. Located in the middle of the island, it's a bit of a drive to most destinations. We had a great 3 bedroom hotel room with a nice covered patio over looking the pool and waterside. Unfortunately, we had no hot water, shower water pressure is poor, microwave did not work, rides were not open, buffet is not good and the staff really doesn't care about guests. They do have a pizza restaurant that is quite good, and the all inclusive drinks help you forget about the cold showers.Overall, it was still a good experience, and the kids enjoyed them selfs. We stayed for 4 nights, which i feel was a bit too long.
