We had our best vacation here! We had a sea view room and we enjoyed every morning coffee on the terrace. Rooms are cozy and clean, restaurants are amazing, beach is one of the most beautiful ones we have ever been on! The water looks just like a live aquarium, great for snorkelling and you can perfectly relax all day on the beach beds. Special thanks to Chennely and Michentem - you made our vacation so lovely❤️ definitely recommend and we will be most definitely coming back! PARADISE!!!!🌴🌸
Coral Estate is a wonderful place to stay, not too far from the airport, but far enough from Willemstad to have a ‘out in nature’ feel being on the coastal side of The Willibrordus nature reserve. The Villa I stayed in had a good bed and pillows, outdoor patio/veranda with kitchen which was perfect. You are constantly entertained by all the tropical birds around. They have a fresh bakery with the nicest Dutch style and international fresh breads, croissants and other nice goods. Restaurants are nice too, including dinner at the seaside. The coastline is rocky, beach is very tiny hard coral, no sand. You have some stairs for easy swimming access to the sea. But then you are very close to all the best beaches of Curaçao driving up north, such as Cas Abou.I’d go and stay there again :-)
Stayed here over the holidays. Against my better judgement, I went swimming in the cloudy, dirty, crowded pool. Within 12 hours I was sick beyond belief. I spent the entire vacation in bed or running to the bathroom. I could barely gather enough energy to get to Miami on my way home and had to stop there for 2 days to recover. I was relieved to be at a hotel with room service, fresh spring water and no ants. The pool is managed by the restaurant, not the hotel, so cleanliness of the pool is not a top priority. I found that out the hard way.
Visited in June 2024. Stayed in a villa, not a room. Visited the resort amenities numerous times. The food at Koraal Rooftop Terrace was exceptional, but the menu is quite limited. The food at Karakter Beach Lounge was also exceptional but very expensive (even for a resort) and built towards sophisticated tastes - not a family eatery. The property manager for our villa was very responsive and helpful, though we could have used more info pre-arrival... After a long plane ride and drive to the resort we spent 15 minutes driving around the resort just trying to find the correct villa. The shops at the welcome center are small - not a lot of inventory of anything at all - but very neat and clean. There was some very good live entertainment (musicians accompanying individual vocalists) in the pool area, but only lasted for about an hour each of the nights we saw it. Then the speakers started blaring 70's rock classics. Not our taste for a "luxury" resort. The resort beach is not sandy. Rather, it is coarse coral with steps between boulders leading to the water. The beach itself is very nice - lined with palm trees, chairs and umbrellas, but very narrow - space enough for a single row of chairs along the length of the beach. The grounds of the resort were very well maintained and everything was in good working order. The biggest issue our group had was the distance from the resort to most other attractions. It took 45 minutes to an hour to drive to most Willemstadt and nearby attractions. And it took 25 minutes to drive to the nearest reasonably stocked grocery store. There was very little to do closer to the resort - a couple nice beaches away from the resort but nothing more. We had a fantastic time at Coral Estate Luxury Resort - visiting Curacao in general - but we're likely not going to visit again.
This was a magical vacation! We rented Villa 527 in Coral Estates for a week to celebrate Birthdays and Mothers Day. The villa was beautiful and accommodating for all of our guests. There was a very short ride down to Coral Estate resort and their amenities where the staff was welcoming and friendly. If you are looking to go snorkeling, this is the perfect place with a beautiful private beach and crystal clear water. A beachside restaurant and bar completed the perfect beach day. I decided to book a massage at 8, which is their private spa. I was welcomed by Marcelina and received the most relaxing experience with her. I loved the pizza/bakery/coffee shop and the prices were extremely reasonable. I loved our experience here and hope to return soon to celebrate another special event.
Pros: natural beauty and proximity to north beaches, the most beautiful ones. Staff is friendly. Food is great. Hotel beach is very beautiful, and rooms have great view. VIP Rooms are quiet and peaceful.Cons: nothing luxurious about it at all. Reserved the “VIP” room but the bathroom shower doesn’t even have a door, they provide a squeegee for you to wipe the floor after you shower. The restaurants are extremely expensive and the hotel is 30min away by car to another restaurants. Do not book this place if you don’t have a car!
Stayed in one of the villas there. It was an amazing experience and the flamingo team was very responsive and helpful. I like the area because of the resort amenities and it is a short drive to some of the most popular beaches. The dive shop was easy to book and well run too.
Misled, Bad Communication, and lied to. We went to Curacao for a snorkeling and fishing trip for our honeymoon and picked this resort for a couple of reasons. The good: the central location was great to access all the reefs in the area and we were no more than 30 minutes away from each side of the island. Snorkeling on site was also very good and some of the staff were extremely friendly and nice. The bad: I called on initial research and was told that I could fish at the resort, this was a big selling point to me. I was told the pier and swimming area were not accessible for fishing, but outside of that area it was okay. Even upon arriving we asked the dive shop and they said just no fishing from the pier, the only place "no fishing" is on a sign on the pier. I tried to walk to the far end of the beach and was chased down by a restaurant employee and told no fishing. I said I was walking beyond the swim area and he said no fishing in the entire resort. I asked where is that stated? He said it's right on the sign. And I said yes, the sign on the pier. No, he says, that means everywhere. I asked the front office and after a few phone calls I was told I couldn't fish at all. Total bummer as I planned to spend several hours each day doing this. Misled and miscommunication part included the honeymoon package where we were supposed to get Champagne in the room. Zonin Ice Prosecco (super sweet wine) is NOT Champagne, not even close. Dinner was also included, but when we went to dine no one knew what that meant. Eventually it was determined that this was a four course meal, which was very nice, but took four hours from start to finish. My wife was pretty much falling asleep before dessert, our reservation was at 6:45. Most staff seemed well meaning and eager to please, but some would just ignore you. The whole thing just seemed unorganized. Again the location was very nice, as well as the amenities and spa, just be very specific about questions and packages.
We stayed for 8 days and went snorkeling and scuba diving straight from the shore multiple times a day. The food was delicious, you could drink the water, there were many tropical fish within inches of entering the water, the beds were platform and firm but comfortable, and the terrace to sit outdoors was spacious and comfortable. Watch out for tiny silent mosquitoes- we were there in early March and even with a wind blowing they managed to find me. The resort has cars to rent and although we prefer vacationing without cars, we needed one to go into the main town and to go up to Westpunt to see turtles. The whole resort is expansive and gated with security, although I felt perfectly safe at all times.
