We only visited the restaurant at the rooftop. Very good Indian food.
People were friendly and very kind.Food was good.Hotel needs updating.Leak in hallway.Broken shower in one room. Was moved to another room.Room was ok. Cabinet was unstable and almost fell.Need more U.S. plug outlets. Only one. I needed another to charge hearing aids plus two phones. We improvised.Needed washcloths. That's not culturally common.Requested bedding blanket and received.Location is central to everything and low-priced.
Had to stay at the last minute once Aqualectra held my electricity hostage (wait for that review!). Worth the price but only just. Central location, and some very tasty Indian food in the rooftop restaurant. Rooms a little run down to be honest but the service was great and the price was right. Would stay again but not with any of my "choosy" family or friends.
This place gets 3 stars overall. The few things going for it- location ( great walking distance to tourist spots, as well as local restaurants and shops), and price (great deal). We stayed for 4 days in January, in one of the VIP suites (king suite with balcony). Now, if some of the actual amenities existed, they may have gotten more stars.1- security. Our door frame was heavily damaged, with very little sense of security behind a deadbolt that had no real use. We had a safe, but could not open it. These should be the minimum that a hotel can provide its guests.2- actual amenities. He had 1 sheet on our bed. No more, no less. No blankets, and 3 pillows that were made of tissue paper. The cupboard had 1 dinner plate, and 1 side plate. A few utensils, a microwave, a kuereg like coffee machine with no instructions and a mini fridge that was warmer than the balcony. So be prepared to eat out, as the delicious cheeses will not keep in the fridge.Wifi was advertised - I had full 5 bars, but sadly it was so poor it was unusable - if you could actually connect. Buy a sim card- best way to go.The shower head was not height adjustable (broken) and there was black mold on the bathroom ceiling (this should be addressed by the owners as soon as possible). This hotel needs to invest a small amount into making the rooms safe, and supply the appropriate necessities for TWO people to stay in a KING room.
The hotel is very well situated, near Emma's bridge, in the centre of Otrobanda. The surrounding is lively and colourful, but actually really safe.Breakfast is, hm, Carribean, so it consists of arepas, scrambled eggs, coffee, toast, fresh fruit...I was always full after this breakfast and I liked it a lot. The staff is friendly and smiling. The rooms are clean, air-condition works well.I give one star less because in the hotel there is no swimming pool, which is in the photos..
Incrediblely friendly staff a great rooftop deck and excellent proximity to the city core. Pricing is very reasonable, rooms have ac and kitchenette and you can walk to a large number of sites, shops and restaurants within a few minutes. The breakfast buffet is an excellent bonus that has a simple but nice and changing rotation of food.
