Among these Aloe species, only one variety has a legendary medical reputation dating back thousands of years, to the times of Ancient Civilization: the famous Aloe Vera plant. Internal Usage Aloe Vera falls into the category of complementary medicines and is conjunctive in the use and treatment of conventional medication. A review, released by the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Tshwane University of Technology, detailed the pharmaceutical properties that have recently been discovered for both the Aloe Vera gel and whole leaf extract.
