Our order consisted of a red snapper and 12 pieces of shrimp (100grams is 6 pieces of shrimp), 1 basket of fries, onion salad and garlic sauce. Everything looked delicious but the shrimp was VERY SALTY, I removed the shells and still had to wipe off the shrimp with a napkin so we could eat it The red snapper was less salty. The fries were great and thankfully unsalted, onion salad is slightly peppery for a little kick and the garlic sauce was nice.I don’t know if this happened because the restaurant was going to close early I suppose because of the North Sea Jazz Festival and they were in a rush.I want to go back because I feel this must have been a one off and next time I may have a better experience. On my next visit I will mention to them to not use too much salt.
Well worth the wait, even if you have to stand in line in the heat. Could very well be the best seafood I've had in my life. The best part is the experience starts when you choose your own fresh seafood from their refrigerated cases, then they cook it for you in the spot. Had seared tuna steak (which they also crust in sesame seeds) and 12 deep-fried shrimp (which is the only way they make them). The tuna was tender and delicious, perfectly cooked, and you get chopsticks to eat it with a bit of soy sauce. The shrimp weren't fried in a batter which I loved, rather just fried in their own shell... seasoned to perfection. Couldn't be happier with having eaten here...5 stars.
Location is right on the water, lovely. You're greeted by a friendly person who explains the food ordering process, etc. It's a cool local dinning experience, fresh caught fish of the day, seasoned just right. Only thing for me was everything is fried, though tasty, I would have loved another option.
Make sure you get there early! That is all because we saw the line and debating on leaving to go to the other restaurants, but glad we didn’t! The tuna and the snapper! Wow! Super fresh and I mean FRESH! Definitely a place to go! Atmosphere, i liked it…. Under cover but open.
Amazing food, great views, good prices. If it's the only thing you do here: be sure to get a basket of shrimp, it's phenomenal. The tuna is also great, the rare came out a bit tastier than the sashimi.
DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE!!!! It was our favorite meal on the island… so much so that we went back for a second round and it was even better. The shrimp are the best shrimp I’ve ever had in my life (I am from an island originally and know good seafood). The tuna was good. We had it seared. It was your basic tuna. The red snapper was killer good. Didn’t need any sauce at all. Just a spritz of lime. The spicy sauce and the garlic sauce are to die for. And the spicy onions were amazing.
Fresh fish and seafood, very well prepared. Not a fancy place but delivers big time on quality. A must when in Curacao. We had seared tuna and a shrimp basket. And of course the fried funchi fries:)
Great fresh sea food.Definitely recommend getting the premium tuna just seared.Fried polenta was a nice side too.Shrimps were juicy, cooked perfect.
WE ARE VEGETARIANS WHO DONT EAT FISH.we wanted to go to test the experience for friends who are coming to the island and it’s just a lovely wonderful place. It’s very fresh-off-the-boat atmosphere with wooden tables set up with great views of the water from pretty much everywhere. The service was fine (order at counter, put number on table runner brings you food). Nothing to write home about but no complaints. We ate the two vegetarian things they have—French fries (NOTE: THEY ARE FRIED IN VEGETABLE OIL not fish oil so safe to eat. They were good enough but I loved their tartar says as a dip. And tomato onion salad. Literally pickled sweet tomatoes and onions in a plastic container. There are typically VERY long lines (40 minute wait) so try to find a slower time if you don’t want to wait. Unfortunately, there is no number or buzzer system so instead of taking a nice walk along the water while waiting you just need to stand in the cramped line.Overall, if you are NOT a fish eater it’s a great experience for the atmosphere and view once or twice. I wish they would add a Cesar salad so it could be a bit healthier for vegetarians but they’re already so busy they probably aren’t looking to appeal to anyone else.
