Dreams Curaçao Resort, Spa & Casi
Where to begin….this property needs a serious upgrade. There was a 2 hour delay in checking into our room, most nice hotels would offer a drink or something. We had to ask three times until someone made it happen. The shower door was missing so they put up a shower curtain. The bathroom door would not shut unless you pushed very hard, the AC was practically inoperable, they have hardware store room fans in each room. The room was nice enough. The elevator next to our room sounded like an air compressor every time it moved which made us change rooms. Service to the room was slow, pillow cases were brought up after our second call and the robes we asked for never arrived. The food was passable, you won’t starve but it’s not fine dining. The staff needs to be trained to at least act like they like their jobs. Some seemed happy to see you, most seemed like they were going through the motions. And finally, DO NOT attend the sales pitch to make Hyatt your vacation destination. I have never been treated so rudely by someone attempting to get us to spend 15k to 25k to join their plan. The guy was a complete jerk. The beach is small but very nice. The beach chairs were torn, some were collapsed. I would give this place a solid C minus. I would not go back there. They did have free ice cream.
The staff is awesome and make sure guests are well taken care of and entertained. The pools and beach are remarkable. The food is satisfactory and the drinks if youre not a preferred guest are weak pours. For the value of money paid, things can be better. However, it was a good experience.

We were there four nights for the North Sea jazz festival and the air conditioner in our room never worked 100%. They supplied us with fans, at least. The lady that assisted us in the room was excellent and very polite and nice. The beach and the location to the festival were the best for our stay there. Buffet was a 7 and the drinks at the bar also a 7. You have the option to buy premium alcohol and the prices are relatively fair.
There’s a lot to unpack when it comes to this resort. I’ve stayed at other Dreams properties and none of them were as disappointing as this one. First off, we arrived after a long day of traveling and had to wait 2 hours after check-in time for our room to be ready. We finally get our room keys, and we walk into a room that is not the room we booked. We booked a King Ocean View room and received a Two Double Ocean View room. We went back down to the “preferred club” and they gave us some crap excuse and tried to blame us for the mistake. They then told us that they would have a King room ready for us… in 72 hours. We decided to stay in the room we were given as we did not want to move halfway through the week. The rooms aren’t horrible overall, but the bathrooms need a lot of work. We had water dripping from the ceiling tiles into our shower whenever the people above us were showering. My husband moved the ceiling tile and there was a towel shoved up there to stop the dripping, meaning either another customer put it up there or the hotel put it there to bandaid the issue. We did get lucky that our room was cool, most people we talked to were not so lucky. The food is not awful, but it’s nothing to write home about by any means. Breakfast buffet was on the smaller side and at least one person in my party ended breakfast with a stomach ache almost everyday. Lunch varied based on the day, which was nice. BUT, if you’re going to the buffet, good luck getting water or even silverware. Dinner was always a question mark. There are three restaurants but on a good day there will be two open, leading to everyone having to wait. I totally get having each restaurant be closed one evening a week or even two, but please have a schedule available if that’s going be the case. It seemed like they just closed whatever restaurant had the least amount of staff that day. The staff at the Rendezvous bar were not very friendly and would take at least a minute or two to acknowledge you, even if the bar was dead. They do have a heavy pour, which we appreciated! All of that being said, I do have a few positives! We never had an issue getting our room cleaned when we requested it (we didn’t need it daily). The mini fridge being restocked daily was a nice touch. The beach and pool were lovely. We spent most of our time at the beach. It is small, but a lot of resorts on Curaçao don’t have beaches, so we were happy. The pool always had some sort of event or raffle happening, so that was fun. That leads me to the biggest positive of the resort… the entertainment team! This group of men and women would spend all day walking around and getting people involved in the activities, and then actually participate in them as well! They were all so friendly and talented. My husband played ping pong with one team member (I believe his name was Alex) and our friends played beach volleyball with another group. Then, every single night we were there, this group would sing, dance and entertain us for at least an hour, sometimes longer! They all deserve raises, as I’m sure they are not being paid well enough for the effort they are putting in!Overall, there are better resort options than Dreams Curaçao. We had read reviews ahead of time, so we weren’t totally shocked by our experience, but it’s still a bummer spending your money on a mediocre experience. They were recently acquired by Hyatt, so I hope they are able to make the improvements needed to have this resort live up to the Dreams name.
I wish I could've given a -1 as a review! This resort is the worst! I spent 7 days of my life here that I can never get back! The resort is very out dated and the rooms have a stale smell! It looks like I had mold in my bathroom. It was black spots on the bathroom mirror and my ceiling in the bathroom was leaking and It was no urgency when I spoke with the front desk lady. I had to beg to get moved into another room! The front desk lady told me they didn't have another room to move me into, and after 3 more lies, she finally told me she would move me to another room. When we checked in... we were told the A/C had just went out earlier that day, but after speaking with other guests the air had been out since the previous Wednesday when they checked in. It was one lie after another. We went to the Seafood Restaurant on-site and was told it was rice night, but when we looked on the app before going to the restaurant the menu that was posted was Seafood???? We spoke with Management and all 3 of the managers we spoke with lied to us with a straight face! Its sooo much that went on during our stay thatwas bad. Please don't choose this resort until they have renovated it!!! No poolside bar service, no AC hand the restaurants are not all open everyday. We paid extra for preferred and guests that did not pay for preferred got the same benefits we paid extra for. $4500 wasted! I will try to post the pics I took. So disappointed in the Hyatt family of Resorts. There is nothing Luxury about this place.
When we arrived to the hotel at 3, there was no one at the front desk so our check-in was delayed. 30 minutes later we tried to check-in and our room wasn’t ready (we had to wait outside for 2 hours to get into our room). The room was average, it had a good amount of space, BUT it was so hot. We requested a fan a few times but it was never brought up.The food was okay, but not great. My boyfriend got food poisoning on day 3 and we had to have a doctor come to the resort. We also tried to go to Portofino multiple times but it wasn’t opened (they only had 2 food options a night). Also, the bar by the pool was closed 2 days during our trip. The bar closer to the lobby was opened each day, the bar tenders at night were great, as well as the entertainment team! The cleanliness of the resort was poor. There were drinks left everywhere and often the bathrooms downstairs were dirty. When they did clean the bedroom it was done very nicely, but often supplies were not replenished (ex. hand towels, towels, etc.) We also would have to call multiple times and go to the front desk to get things we needed.

I was nervous to come here in August after reading some bad reviews, so I wanted to share my unbiased experience. I was here for 1 week for my friend's birthday. I have a condition where I have to drink 1 gallon of water daily and I also have to avoid overheating and dehydration. My air conditioning in the room worked just fine. At times it even was too cold ! The bar was happy to fill up the water jug I brought from home with ice and water so staying hydrated was not a problem. The rooms are elegant and have a small refrigerator stocked with a few sodas and waters. The buffet is open for breakfast and lunch . Lunch ends at 3:30. The best food is in the buffet. Everything is fresh with great variety and it's actually some of the tastiest food I've ever had . Occasionally they open the buffet for dinner. The 3 restaurants on site are not as good as the buffet but I was full anyway from eating so much at breakfast and lunch . The restaurants have a much smaller menu compared to the buffet but was able to find something to order at each one . Ice cream that is very good is offered in the gift shop ( which has nice gifts) as part of the all inclusive. The infinity pool is breathtaking especially at sunset . It's easy to book excursions, ask Staff to book a taxi for you to go to downtown Willemstad ( $20 for 1 way). The beach had trees on 1 side with natural shade plus umbrellas so if your trying to stay out of the sun its easy on this beach. The buffet and restaurants aren't air conditioning as they are open air but the natural breezes kerp them very comfortable. Beautiful safe resort . I would come back without hesitation .
Here are the positivesVery nice staff-nice grounds-very clean-good entertainment-food is good not excellent-maid cleaned our room very well and organized everything-The beach area is small but nice. What else? And the negatives-Beds- hard and you can feel the springs they need a cushioned mattress cover-AC does not work properly. I had the AC on 65 and it was definitely 80-No ventilation in the bathroom so you are hot and sweaty after your shower-Preferred was no different. No upgraded experience other than the premium liquor in the office that you have to get and mix yourself and a fenced off patio.-preferred cabana area and pool lounge area was a joke anyone can sit in the cabanas. They weren’t checking.-barely anyone walking around for drink orders-Had to request towels and washcloths several times-all of the restaurants are outside with no air/fans for circulation which means there is no relief from heat. Birds are all over the place at the buffet style restaurant-all the electricity and air is in casino-We stayed two doors down from the elevator and the sound from the elevator going up and down was extremely loud. Sounded like we were right next to it.-bad sewage smell at bar Rendezvous.-The casino had A LOT of slot machines which I’m sure took up most of the power from the rest of the hotel. It is also the coolest place there too but it’s very dated and old. I think they need to go ahead and close it because it was very empty.-When leaving we checked out and let the bellman know who we were waiting for but no one ever called out for us to let us know our transportation was here. We were late leaving to go to the airport.
