Esty’s Brasserie

Very reasonably priced gourmet fare. The mushroom toast was dreamy. The escargot delicious and not swimming with overdone garlic and butter. The duck was tender and tasty. Highly recommend.
So, we took one night off and just had to return. The cold leek soup, was exceptional as were the mussels (as a special from the Netherlands abundant and fragrant) and the main course that we both had of halibut just melted in our mouths. Couldn’t have been fresher or better prepared.

I found this place when I was searching for a dinner on the Google Maps randomly.

I don’t think most of the people are aware of here as it was not on the list of restaurants that I checked in the web.

I can’t complain about anything. It was sooo good. One of the best tenderloin I ate in my life. Service is wonderful, classy and friendly at the same time.

Cocktails are also worth mentioning.

Prices are reasonable for such restaurant.

If I ever come back to Curaçao, I’ll visit here again.

Not worth it for vegetarians or if you are hungry. Tiny portions, very expensive (above average even for Curacao, i.e. $20 for half a small eggplant). Staff was friendly at first but when told we were disappointed and not well advised on our choices, they just wanted to get us out of there, instead of making up for the bad experience even with just a tea or coffee. The place is pretty though.

I think it is pretty hard to make the classic French dishes in Curaçao, with mostly local produce.

The foie gras was not real foie gras, the coq au vin was way to watery and the chicken was burnt, resulting in a bitter taste.

The beef tartare was good in tast but the herbs were way too overpowering.

The shrimp croquettes lacked flavor and so on…
I do appreciate the effort in presenting the food, but most of the dishes just missed the mark.

The only thing excellent were the drinks and the service.

Absolutely excellent service and food. Customer service is definitely a top priority of this place. All the staff make you feel like you’re at home. The owner is very friendly and helpful. I will defintily be back and would definitely recommend this place. The canard and chocolate desert are both to die for. 10/10 recommend Etsy!!!

Seeing good reviews, we decided to check it out. We started it off with french onion soup and beef tartare - haven't had one so good in a very long time. I thought I'd need more bread to go along the tartare in a moment when the owner of the restaurant passed by and commented we need more bread and brought it. For the main course we both went with corvina fish, which was prepared to perfection. Also 3 ordered sides (roasted potatoes, broccoli in a mustard sauce, ratatouille). We did order too much. For a dessert we went with Tarte tartin (great but insanely sweet) and profiteroles.

The location is right by the main road but it becomes less busy as the night rolls in and the selection of music was great and to a great extent camouflages the road noise.

The owner was very active and knows how to work his guests. Unfortunately, you don't see this these days very often but it shows in the great quality of food and service, both of which were amazing for Curacao standards. We would definitely return.
