Lagun Sunset is a beautifully serene place to spend your vacation. In a quiet location overlooking the turquoise sea and being west facing the sunsets are amazing. Our top floor apartment was spacious with a full width, deep glass fronted balcony providing an outdoor living area perfect for relaxing. Plenty of places to visit including the capital of Willemstad and numerous beaches up and down the coast, a car is advisable. Excellent snorkelling. Restaurants within easy reach. Henny the owner was always instantly available to ensure we had everything we needed for a perfect stay. Highly recommended, we will return.
We spent a short week in this resort where we had reserved a penthouse. We had a wonderful time. Excellent hospitality, the owners even went shopping for us prior to our arrival. The apartment was all new and very clean with a marvelous view on the Caribbean Sea. The infinity pool was beautiful ! The ultimate experience for us was to swim all natural in the sea (direct access) A resort that we can highly recommend !
Absolutely fantastic place if you like the idea of being free. A beautiful looking resort for nudist and non-nudist although "Live a Little" great pool, bar set up, chairs, washrooms, and the accommodations looked amazing with full kitchen, living with a million dollars view and the owner was really nice and welcoming. I would highly recommend and very likely return to stay here. That end of the island is also for people who love nature things to do like hiking beach stuff and the scuba diving was spectacular. A must 👌
Lagun Sunset Resort is the most beautiful, most picturesque place that I have ever found here in Curacao. From the incredible views of the open turquoise sea to the magnificent cliffside infinity pool to the artistcally designed grounds, walkways and decks, you will not find a cleaner and more aesthetically pleasing location here on this island. And for access to the ocean, simply walk down the stairs carved into the cliffside. Whether you are SCUBA diving, snorkeling, or just going for a swim, it is all right there. As a diver, I was particularly impressed with the clean and convenient rinse tanks built into the cliff, halfway down the stairs.Located between my favorite two beaches, Lagun and Jeremi, either is just a healthy swim away. Last week a pod of dolphins swam lazily in front of the Resort and I am told that this is not an uncommon occurrence so keep your eyes out on the water. As for the living quarters, each fully equipped apartment is large and stunningly beautiful with an open air design, comfortable and modern furniture and complete with all of the amenities that you could ask for. And each apartment comes with its own large deck facing the ocean. The hosts of this resort could not be more accommodating and accessible. Anything you might want is one request away, whether it is an airport pick-up, groceries, or information about the island, all you have to do is ask.I highly recommend Lagun Sunset Resort for long stays, short stays or even if you just want to visit for the day.
We visited Lagun Sunset Resort on our most recent trip to Curacao, and Iā€™m posting this review on multiple platforms because more people need to know about it!We emailed Henny a day in advance to reserve a Day Pass, but we liked it so much that we came back the next day too! The facilities are like a magical dream. Everything is modern, clean, and new as of 2022. The comfortable lounge chairs around the pool and on each apartmentā€™s private deck are extra large - the apartment deck also has a couch to sit on if youā€™re not in a lounging mood. There are ceiling fans out there as well, which is another nice touch. Every detail has been lovingly considered by Henny and Peter, the owners of the resort. The views of the ocean from the infinity pool are gorgeous, but have your lunch at the tables on either the upper or lower decks next to the glass railings that overlook the ocean - the water is the bluest blue. Be sure to pack your meal though if youā€™re visiting for just the day because while there is a bar, there is not a restaurant on premises. If youā€™re staying the night (which we absolutely will be doing on our next trip!) you can cook in the fully stocked kitchens in the apartments. We asked for a tour and saw that there is a microwave/real oven combo (not common in the US), a dishwasher, a fridge/freezer, an induction stove, a toaster, an electric kettle, a coffee maker, etc.The pictures donā€™t do it justice! Itā€™s modern and tidy in a Scandinavian way, and the details truly stand out - both European and American outlets with 120 and 220 volts?! A gorgeous niche in the shower for your toiletries?! Flatscreen tvā€™s with Fire Sticks?! Weā€™ve stayed at a few places in CuraƧao and this is the highest quality by far. There is air conditioning (AC) in the bedroom, but the main living space has gorgeous windows and glass doors and both are easy to open for the constant Curacao breeze. We were provided pool towels and set ourselves up on the loungers under a shaded pool deck. There were plenty of loungers in the sun with an umbrella available if thatā€™s more your thing. There is a beautiful outdoor shower as well.We grabbed our snorkels (they can provide them if you donā€™t have your own) and headed down the easy to walk stairs to the lower deck. There were a few more tables and chairs here, plus two big sinks and an outdoor shower for washing off diving equipment. The ocean access makes it feel like paradise and the ladder was easy to climb. We went snorkeling along the cliffs and saw 1000 fish - blue tang, parrotfish, trunk fish, butterfly fish, sergent major, fairy basslet, hogfish. Watch for the sun to make it over the cliffs to get the brightest view of the fish, but then stay to watch the sunset from the pool. We saw a pelican (my favorite) and the small, glittering fish that the birds dive for, but on this side of the island you may get lucky and see dolphins or tuna. Finally, Henny and Peter are extremely welcoming, friendly, and communicative - we enjoyed talking with them and they made sure we had everything we needed to have an excellent experience. We only took pictures when there were no other guests around because this all natural resort is a nudist resort - if youā€™re sick of having a wet bathing suit butt all day, Iā€™d really recommend giving it a try. Skinny dip in both the pool and the ocean like us! Donā€™t miss out on this wonderful treasure of a place!
The Lagun Sunset Resort just opened within the last year. Its on-site owners, Peter and Henny, developed the extraordinary property with a great eye for detail and a very comfortable and functional design. They go out of their way to make sure you have what you need. Our standard apartmentā€™s large well-appointed balcony became our impressive living room. You will want to plan your day to be on the balcony to watch the awesome sunsets! The common area includes a large infinity pool with very comfortable lounge chairs, a bar gathering area and some cliff-side decks that can make you feel like you might be on a cruise ship. The kitchen had everything we wanted to cook two meals per day in. There are also some good restaurants close-by. If you are a scuba diver, some of the best dives on the island are just a short drive away. Down the oceanfront steps there is really nice snorkeling and swimming (no swimsuit required). Curacao is a great island, with many things to do, but we enjoyed the resort so much we found ourselves planning our days to make sure we had time to get back and enjoy our temporary home! We had a fantastic stay and are already thinking about our next trip back.
