Madero Ocean Club

Don’t waste your time! I had a day pass reservation, which was supposed to include a beach bed among other amenities. I get to the place at our reservation time and it is packed. There is no clear directions on where to check in. I go to a bar, which only has 1 person working to ask where we check in for our reservation. She pointed me to a server. The server was odiously flustered and when I asked about the reservation, he grabs his iPad pressed a few buttons and says go find a chair. I asked if we had one reserved and he said “we do not reserve beach beds.” At which point I showed him my email confirmation and he just walked off. There was no place for us to go even with a reservation! The beach was crowded and the service was terrible. There are better beaches to spend time your time at in Curaçao.

Unbelievably bad service. The staff is rude and it feels like you are doing them a favor by being there. We canceled our account and went to the restaurant next door called Bonita which was excellent and we were treated very well.

It is diffently for the young, but the upkeep of the place was horrible. more broken lounger chairs than good chairs, the smell of garbage, garbage on the beach, and pool water was murky. We went there for 3 days as they had an agreement with the guest at our hotel to use the facilities available. A broken chair I move on top of another broken chair was on the same spot for 3 days.
place is a disaster.

Worst beach club I have been to. Service is non existent. They overcharged me, also changed prices from one day to another. Pool use isn't allowed and they don't know the price for entry but everybody is in it. The food was decent when it actually came but the other time it didn't even come and we just left. Server can't remember our order or if we even ordered at all. Beach is dirty and unkempt. No professionalism, no standard of care. Avoid this place.

I was disappointed by this experience. I was hoping for a day of relaxing at the pool of a cool beach club, ordering cocktails and snacks from the comfort of our pool loungers... We rented a Cabana at the pool and expected the same vibe from other guests there considering that they charge to use the pool here. The pool, however, turned out to being used by beach goers as a place to drop their kids while they would relax at the beach unbothered by their children. I counted 8 actual guests at the pool and 15 to 20 kids jumping and splashing in the Ocean club pool, making it impossible to even scroll on your phone without getting it wet. I may be wrong, but looking at the way the pool was being used, I doubt that the kids were paid guests.
I have nothing against kids in a pool, but I do believe it would be better to manage expectations of guests you are trying to attract to a facility. If this is the intended demographic, that is fine, but it would not be what I am looking for in a cool adult Beach or Ocean club setting. If it is to be an Ocean club setting, then they may want to revise the setup.
Service wasn't great, having to hunt and waive down the waiters instead of being checked on periodically. I'm not blaming this entirely on the staff, as clearly most of the guests present weren't necessarily interested in ordering food and/or cocktails... Disappointing nevertheless.
Finally, and considering the considerable number of really young, mostly unattended, kids in the pool, I would suggest getting a life guard. I was horrified to see a baby not even 2 years old under the care of 5 and 6 year old siblings repeatedly going under water and swallowing substantial amounts of water as this happened. I ended up keeping an eye on the kids instead of relaxing at the pool and eventually asked the kids to take me to their mother on the beach to tell her that I was affraid her daughter would drown in the pool if no one would look after her.
I had reserved the pool Cabana from 10:00 to 18:00 but ended up leaving at 15:00 in order to find somewhere else to relax on my birthday.
I received an email asking to review my experience later that they, which I did. I did not get a reaction.

You can rent beach chairs and cabanas, order drinks and eat here. Lots of cute shops as well. Great for small kids as well as there’s a breaker wall. The beach is nice fine sand. There are public bathrooms. We arrived at noon and were able to find chairs but probably the last two on the beach. There’s also a pool with pool cabanas and chairs for rent.
The service was good. Plenty of ice and the bartenders are great.

Honestly our 3rd time here and every time there’s a new fee and worse service. Things are dirty and the servers are rude and lazy. This will be our last visit. Day 1 was average and the last time its almost intolerable. I’m leaving to go to Chill bar just down the beach where seats are free and service is better. The sell it as high class but really it’s just a tourist trap. They don’t even care about bad reviews or if you leave unhappy. Just another line of cash cows rolling in off cruise ships daily. Go anywhere else on the island for a better experience.
I regret coming back this time. As I said the first time was average to most places like this and figured last time they were just busy. But today has been the worst so far.

Very busy so arrive early.
The cabanas and bed cushion needs a bit maintaining.

Great beach with no rocks just smooth sand and clear waters …. No crazy waves and perfect breeze.
