The Snoa and its adjacent Jewish Historical Cultural Museum, are open to visitors on weekdays from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. A small entrance fee is charged for the maintenance of these historical buildings. Both are closed (for tourism) on Saturdays, Sundays, Jewish Festivals and public holidays. It's an attractive house of worship which was completed in 1732. The wood is all mahogany. The floor is sand.
The museum is included in the admission and is worth visiting. For some reason photography isn't allowed inside the museum, although the synagogue itself permits it.

The Mikve Israel-Emanuel Synagogue in Curaçao is the oldest synagogue in the western hemisphere in downtown Willemstad. You can visit the synagogue and the museum on the premisses. Visit the synanagogue during the week. Entrance fee for the museum is 10 dollars. The visit is worth your while. Especially during Jewish Holidays. Make sure you check on the dresscode. Example is no slippers/flipflops allowed. Check dresscode also when visiting the island on a cruiseship. It is a 20 minute walk from the cruiseship to the synagogue.

Every time we are in Curacao we visit the synagogue. The building is beautiful. The museum is well organized and well maintained. The staff are gracious and love to share their knowledge of the community.

Fabulous historic site. The oldest Jewish house of worship in continuous operation in the western hemisphere. Nice little museum with interesting information on their history...and of course a gift shop. Don't forget your credit card as they have difficulty with cash.

A visit to the oldest surviving synagogue in the Americas is an absolute must. The history of this synagogue is very interesting and is explained in detail through a timeline display. It also goes into some of the history of Curacao which I found very useful and informative. Next to the synagogue is the museum, which is considered to be a "living museum" meaning a lot of items on display are used for service or special ceremonies/events.

This place is an interesting spot on the Jewish history in the western world this is the oldest synagogue in the western Hampshire The Shul is kept very nice and the place is magnificent
The only problem is that some of the people working there are not the Nicest

The Synagogue/Museum is well worth a visit. The Synagogue is the oldest in the Americas. It is still active and many of the items in the attached museum are still used for worship. We had a great time speaking with Phyllis. Doesn't take long to visit, but if you are interested in historical places and places of worship it is well worth your time.
