My rating is 2.5 stars.To US travelers: please be warned that the cost of the booking may not be what you see in your receipt in booking.com. Apparently due to exchange rate from EU to USD, and extra charges for PayPal / credit card payment there is a 5~6% fee which added an extra ~$60 to my booking. There is apparently no bank transfer app they use that accommodates for USD. I’ve never had a stay where it charges more than what the estimated base room cost is, so I was surprised. The manager Leon, offered to pay the ~6% fee on his side which he apparently did, but it still cost ~$60 more than the original estimate. In the end, I didn’t actually understand why this happened, and I got varying numbers from the manager (which was extra confusing), but I let it go as it seemed like he was doing his best. If you decide to stay here I would clarify the total cost you have to pay with the manager *when you book*. Or else it just feels like you’re getting scammed.The location is convenient and close to the downtown area, great food and drink places, iconic bridge. I give it 3 stars for location. 2 stars for actual stay and payment confusion though.I stayed in the junior suite room for 7 nights. It was small, and did the job. If you want the really nice experiences written on these other reviews, don’t book this room lol. You don’t have ocean view (which I knew about) and you can’t access the pool (which apparently is only private access for certain rooms). The first night I stayed I got small bug bites on the underside of my legs, so asked to change the sheets. Once the sheets were changed, there was no problem. Keep your food items in the fridge- we left some trash near the small trash bin in the room (because it didn’t fit) and after half a day there was a line of ants coming at our food. WiFi works, you can keep AC on for the night and the building won’t shut down like other places my acquaintances stayed at. But be aware the AC is placed so it blows directly onto you for the entire night - despite changing the angle of the AC fan.Leon, the manager is nice, I appreciate the ride to the apartment from my last hotel. He is helpful with local recommendations when talking with him. Make sure to give him a half-day to a day to respond to what’s app messages.
