Excellent food and cocktails at good price. The Papagayo Snack Platter and the chicken wings are a must try for 2-3 people. Also excellent service from Nicole, quick, friendly but also professional!

1. the restaurant… mediocre service and the food didn’t come as ordered.We ordered a poke bowl and a salad and waited for 45min and only got the food after asking again, as we had been waiting for a while, despite there being guests at only two other tables.When we finally got the salad it was missing dried tomatoes. We told the waitress, she went back to the kitchen and let us know that they are out of dried tomatoes. On our request she then went back to the kitchen to get some fresh tomatoes instead. This wasn’t offered by the waitress, there was no apology and we paid the full price - for an already overpriced salad. Exceedingly disappointing experience.2. The bar… each time I order, it seems that all six waiters are busy doing nothing and it takes a while before I am actually approached to order. Everyone seems utterly unmotivated and nearly annoyed that they actually have to work.I would really expect a more pleasant experience in this price range.

Don’t bother. Servers are all smiles but the actual service is lacking. Food is mediocre but expensive. Please don’t stay at Papagayo Hotel. Not worth your money.

Echoing others' reviews, the service here was awful. A rotating staff of young, inexperienced kids. It's not that they didn't try, but were in over their heads. The food was underwhelming. The expensive, tiny ceviche was served in a cocktail glass. The flavor wasn't awful, but waiting 30 minutes for it made it a disappointment before it even got to us. The flammkuchen was undercooked and had far too much bacon on it. And I love bacon.In short, come here for cocktails and the sunset. Beyond that, you're on your own.Cue the AI generated response from management in 3...2...1...

This was a disappointment. The service was pretty terrible - we waited 45 minutes after asking for our bill. The food is mediocre. Gave it three stars because the views are nice and the waiters were at least friendlier than most of the surrounding restaurants.

Good bar and nice beach area, good food and drinks. Staff was ultra friendly and tried to cater to our needs.Food was creative and very tasty. Prices are from mid range to high.

We went there for a beach day, the place has a a few pro‘s and con‘s: the infinity pool is incredible and there are a lot of crabs and green iguanas. On the other hand the service is terrible, basically there is no service at all and it takes ages to order. The sun beds are quite old and saggy, sometimes even broken. Food and drinks are ok but very basic, nothing special, so it felt quite overpriced for what you actually get (ordered a smoothie and got a frozen juice, something like a slushy instead…).
