Curacao

Curacao is one island being part of the Royal Dutch Kingdom. It is the most populated island and located just north of Venezuela.

Relax or get busy

Many tourists choose – and return to – Curacao for a well earned holiday retreat with its secure sunny weather. The good food, many optional activities offered and the friendly nature of both people living on Curacao and the visiting tourists make it an easy choice.

Unlike on some of the other Caribbean islands you will never be bored on Curacao. You will be relaxed for sure, but you will only not do anything by choice. There are so many activities, good restaurants, noghtlife and cultural sightseeing options you will run out of time, before you’ll run out of options.

Punda in Willemstad

One location on the island you cannot miss to visit is the capital Willemstad. The area Otrobanda on one side and Punda ond the other side of the Schottegat waterway combine two sides of the city. Both sides have their own atmosphere, history and different vibe.

Punda is famous for its Handelskade with the bright painted houses you will see on most postcards. Behind the Handelskade you’ll find a shopping area where you can buy souvenirs, clothing, jewelry and much more. Also here you will find the famous (not actually) floating market and the Ronde Markt (translation is ‘Round Market’), where you can buy authentic Caribbean products, fruits and more.

On Punda’s east-side you will encounter the Pietermaai district, which is the upcoming hipster area with lots of buzz and nightlife.

Otrobanda

Otrobanda – litterly translated into ‘the other side’ is less developed than Punda. It is habitated by more locals, people born and raised on Curacao.

Nature and Beaches

Curacao is also famous for its great beaches and nature around the island. From the Christoffelpark in the west to the most beautiful beaches on the southern shores. On this website you will find many details about all these locations.
