We loved this hotel and the amazing staff played a huge part of it. Everyone was genuinely nice and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We booked the deluxe patio room. The floor tiles are so unique and it is such a beautiful space. It’s within walking distance, but far enough from the main streets/downtown where we weren’t bothered with late night party noise. Restaurant had really good food and drink menu. I honestly can’t think of anything subpar or negative about our stay, other than I wish it would have been longer. Highly recommend and look forward to coming back.

Friendly cosy hotel well situated nearshore to bars. Service is a little simple and slow but good and helpful. Internal windows has no shadows and light with movement detector goes to your bed… very interesting and inspiring yard and pool and atmosphere

A monastery that has been converted to a hotel but kept the old charm. Perfect description. Each room has modern conveniences but they left the outdoor shower and high ceilings which are reminiscent of architecture in the early 1900’s. Buffet breakfast with a mixture of US and UK foods is provided every morning. The hotel is within walking distance of a number of restaurants, landmarks and night life venues. A 4 star restaurant is on the compound but it opens for dinner only. The front desk always has beautiful smiling young ladies welcoming you or wishing you well as you enter or leave. Anything you need they are always willing to accommodate to ensure that your stay on the island is perfect.

If i would need to rate the place overall, i am giving it a 2 star. The staff is excellent, friendly and service oriented. No complaints about the staff, but the property itself is not recommended. Rooms seem to be too small, bed in my room was two single beds placed together, so you can,'t sleep in the center. My bathroom was way too small, and the A/C did not work properly, heard this same complaint from other guests around.

My boyfriend and I stayed 9 nights in March 2016. The best vacation of my life! First of all, the charm of this hotel is mesmerizing and really makes you feel welcome and relaxed. The staff is pleasant and so very helpful! They were able to book reservations at restaurants, book trips and day activities, and overall help you to explore the island. The delicious food at the Chapter restaurant is probably the best I ate on the island (besides the local food) and certainly an added plus. The hotel offers free street parking (was never a problem) and is a short 15 minute walk to just about everything you want to see in Willemstad. We were the only Americans there (a nice change from staying at the Hilton/Marriott) and all the Dutch people we met were very friendly. The ONLY downside was the expensive $16 (but fairly good) breakfast.

I would give anything to be back at this hotel, in the peaceful courtyard, with a glass of wine after a nice day at the beach! Must stay.
