Equus serves large skewers of chicken or lomito from the grill. The skewers are really huge. In addition to the meat, you get a basket of toasted baguette with garlic sauce and pika.

Only open Fridays so food is always fresh and delicious. No food left over from the previous day!! The shrimp skewer and vegetable skewer were excellent.

I was lucky enough to be in Curacao on a Friday to try out this restaurant. It was recommended to me by a friend who has been here and I’m glad I came. The meat was delicious. With the sauce and the bread, the entire combination hit the spot. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The cocktails were also good. I would definitely come again. I tried the beef, the shrimp, and the veggies so next time I have to come back and try the chicken!

I’m writing this review 8 years after going to Equus due to the fact that my wife and I are still thinking about the food we ate there. I wish I could take a small flight over to Curacao to simply eat there. It’s well worth your time.

I must admit this is the place that impressed me the most on the island. The idea of the whole concept is brilliant. The food is hanging in front of you waiting to be devoured with your fingers. Employees dancing while cooking or serving, good mood, great music, the atmosphere is the definition of joyful life in Curaçao. Hardest part is to wait for the food as all flavors and smells floating in the air are a series of invitations to feast. You feel like you are welcomed into a family. Did I say the food is simply amazing and delicious? A must place to visit while in Curaçao! I would give it 10 stars.

It's not as busy as claimed, we got there about 8pm and there was plenty of space. People arrived after us but it was no where near full. Sadly though, they forgot about us, we ordered, I went back after a while and checked our order, but still after 1 hour waiting and still no sign of our food we left. People were served who arrived after us but no one came to check on us and despite me going to the bar and confirming our order we left very hungry. No apologies from the staff, they even tried to charge me for the food we did not get. I paid for the drinks we had. Of all the places we have eaten on the island I cannot recommend this place, we were treated disgustingly. Go somewhere else on a Friday night, Equus is not worth it.

What a cool atmosphere! Cozy local spot, open only Fridays for the last 30 years. Named in homage to the horse stables that were here, as workers would join weekly for a barbecue to mark the end of the work week. The menu is simple and everything is amazing. There was not a thing we did not like and we got everything. Mixed meats, shrimp, veggies, bread, garlic sauce, even the spicy pepper sauce! Everything homemade here. Owner was so kind to check in with us and share about the location. The tables are spread in a lovely courtyard with nice lighting for ambiance. You MUST come here. We would come back if it were open other days! But it is special wot be open just Fridays…

This place is only opened for dinner on Fridays and is supposed to be packed during the entire time, but maybe due to a festival going on at the same time, it was relatively empty when we got there near opening. This place looks and feels like you're eating in someone's backyard garden area. You get more than enough bread to eat along with your skewers which can be 10 shrimp, chicken, steak, a 3 & 3 chicken and steak combo and veggies. One skewer of meat and one of veggies is more than enough food for two people especially using the delicious garlic bread to collect the meat that is hung in front of you after it's been cooked over coals at the front of the restaurant which was nice to watch as you enjoy your drink and the always present and calming Curacao breeze as the place is entirely outdoors.

Only open Friday Night 5:30 - 930 worth every penny. We were early and lucky to find a table. Service is a free for all. Try the mojito with blue Curacao and the shrimp 🍤 kabob.
