The Hato Caves is located on the north side of the island and only two minutes from the International Airport of Curacao. The Hato Caves being more then 200.000 years old is the biggest and most prominent cave on the island. Since 1991 the Hato Caves were opened officially to the public after undergoing an intensive upgrading by the Government to make it accessible by foot. Nowadays the Hato Caves can be considered the most beautiful and public friendly cave of the island. Curacao is formed in layers going up in height called terraces. While most caves are to be found in the second terrace, the Hato Caves are uniquely found in the third terrace of the island. The Hato Caves is a great park to visit. You will be delighted to see seldom long-nose bats, beautiful limestone formations, a romantic water pool and a statue of mother Maria holding here only child. At The Hato Caves you will experience the beauty of Curacao’s nature, history and culture. The Hato Cave tour was a fascinating experience! It was really interesting to learn about the cave’s history and explore its stunning interior. Our guide was wonderful—knowledgeable, kind, and always ensuring everyone’s safety. She even took photos for guests, which added a thoughtful touch.

One thing to note is that it can get quite hot inside the cave, but the beauty of the formations makes it worth it. I would recommend this tour to everyone, though it might be a bit uncomfortable for young children due to the heat.

A great activity right by the airport. Tours are run on the hour, every hour, 9-3pm and in multiple languages. Plenty of parking, bathrooms, and a snack shop. The caves are not accessible as you have to climb some steep stairs, and it's quite warm inside. The interior is paved pathways and they have electric fans. We walked in and bought tickets right before the tour started, no need to buy in advance unless you're with a group. There is an "Indian Trail" in site that is accessible with a paved path circuit but wasn't worth the hot walk.

Excellent tour with very informative guide. Cost is only $ 10 USD for non local admission with groups going in about once an hour. Staff fluently speaks 5 languages to accommodate a variety of travelers. Clean restrooms!

Exploring the Hato Caves was an absolute blast! Having never been to an above-ground cave before, the experience was truly magnificent. While it's a bit of a hike to reach the top, let me tell you, it's absolutely worth it! The care and preservation of the caves are commendable, and it's evident that they're treasured by those who manage them. My kids had a blast exploring too, and witnessing their excitement made the experience even more special. The caves are a beautiful sight to behold, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for an adventure coupled with natural beauty.

I went with my family and friends to Hato Cave in the beautiful island of Curacoe 🏝️ and had a beautiful time. The sight of the cave is incredible. It just so happened that my sister’s and I outfits blend perfectly with the surroundings and our pics turned out great. One tip of advice wear comfortable shoes 👟. Although I had my flats, I managed. The caves were very cool. It was a nice attraction to attend while on the island. It was cool to see and learn about the caves and I know they were once underground. It was difficult at times to hear the guide, especially if touring with a big group. The walk around the area was nice after to check out all the plant life.

Inside the caves pictures and videos were only allowed in specific areas. Oh and we got to see a cool view of a bat nest.

The caves exceeded my expectations. The no pictures rules was likely to keep everyone together but felt oppressive. Affordable entertainment. Would have been nice to have ice cream available as it was quite warm inside the caves. The guide was hard to understand and needed to be genuine not rehearsed.
