Karakter Curacao

Good food. Service is a bit on Caribbean time. But not too badly so. The view is gorgeous. Get a table on the beach itself. Set your reservation maybe 15-30 minutes before sunset and take in the view. Definitely a place for visitors to check out. Kid friendly enough to bring them along.

Staff very unfriendly, I had to find my own table and menu. Asked staff for smoothie of the day flavours as that’s what the menu directs you to do, I was then asked why I didn’t read the board. (Probably because I didn’t know it existed). After that comment I just decided to leave, and I’m currently sat upstairs in Koraal enjoying my food with a great view.

- [ ] Came here 630. At 645 we put in complete order of entrees, appetizers and drinks. We were a party of 6 and there was 4 other tables there , pretty much the whole night as one left another one sat down. At 730 our appetizers came with no plates to share and our drinks came just about warm at the same time. All seriousness the ice cubes in the mojito were gone and the frozen marg was iceless. The seafood sausage was good and the sauce as well; but the pumpkin with yogurt, i’d pass on it. Getting water refils were impossible. We got 2 orders of bread and the onion dip that was 1 of the 3 was fantastic. For dinner we had the red snappers but they ran out and gave us wahoo local white fish instead. It was very tasty and a good replacement for it. Another dish was the short rib with chocolate which i love both and didnt think it would work but it did. Dessert was the fluffy cheesecake which wasn’t a cheesecake more of fruit in a bowl with a whipped creamed tossed on top when brought to table . Forget to mention that they dropped the whipped cream onto us and didn’t say anything. Another dessert was the dutch apple pie with ice cream, which was nothing to rave at all, more so a hard dough with dried apples and pecans/granola. The service and food wasn’t up to par. Overall i wouldn’t come back here regardless if you thought about coming here or stayed in the resort. However i didn’t go to the rooftop terrance restaurant upstairs.

If you’re staying at the Coral Estates, this is a great place to get into the beautiful Caribbean Sea, kick back in a beach chair and enjoy some good food and drinks.

Beautiful place for a sunset meal in a gated condo community. One of the more expensive options on the island but it was worth it for the screensaver views and incredible food! Risotto was perfection and had Michelin style service.

Views were so good you could propose here and I’m sure many have before! Suggest wearing elevated beachy casual, like a linen shirt or a dress or something or you might feel a bit under dressed.

If you’re not staying in the gated community it’s a bit of a trek to get here, but the food and the atmosphere are worth it. You can use Google maps to get you to the nearest parking lot and then walk all the way down the stairs to the restaurant. I ordered the local fish duo and it was simply fantastic. Two beautiful pieces of perfectly cooked fish on top of veggies and couscous along with a side of fried polenta. This may have been the best meal I had in Curaçao. I had to try the famous apple pie for dessert even though I was pretty full. It was very different, more like a pastry, but I liked it. The vanilla ice cream was delicious. The service was pretty slow, but you have a spectacular view to pass the time.

Excellent meal, high quality ingredients and innovative dishes both in terms of composition and presentation.

The patio is a bit brightly lit in the evening, otherwise a perfect meal in a lovely location right in our development.

At first we didn’t like this beach because of the “upper class vibe.” You have to walk in front of all the people to find chairs and only one entrance into the ocean - feels a bit like you’re on display. You get over it after you’re there a while and have a fantastic snorkel!
the snorkelling is the best we had in all of curaçao so far - we have not been to tugboat yet though.
The food is good and not too overpriced. Service was decent and friendly.
We would go back. Free parking and no entrance fee to this resort beach - just have to buy food or drink.
Also is wheelchair accessible right down to the ocean and pier.

Place is great. We stopped for lunch after a long day of beach hopping and found a real gem hidden in a high end-ish, boutique like resort.

Good food with incredible view - very relaxing.

It’s a journey - both the drive and walk down - but well worth including if you’re out visiting beaches.
