Lagun Blou Resort Curacao

I really wanted to love this place but too many cons outweigh the pros.Pros,The staff are friendly and very helpful. Location is absolutely paradisiac and magical. The view from the premium apartment balcony was magical. The fact that the property was steps from Playa Lugun was amazing and their private access to clear waters and wonderful snorkeling was incredible. The bed was comfortable.Cons, the apartment (#19) is very OUTDATED, along with the furniture, where there were visible stains on the couch that I was deterred from sitting on them and unable to enjoy the living room, plus there’s NO A/C and it gets extremely hot (only upstairs in the bedroom and if you go over 15 kw / day you’ll be charged ). The bath mats had stains on them. The upstairs sliding door grates and is hard to open. The fan in the living room was extremely dirty and dusty, but when I asked for it to be cleaned it was instantly cleaned, along with the very smelly bathroom upstairs, (they immediately put chemicals in the toilets and sinks to remove the smell). The kitchen is old and I felt I had to wash anything before I used it.If you’re looking for a great location with magical views and won’t be spending much time in your room, this is the place. But if you’re looking to relax in a clean apartment without worrying about using too much electricity and A/C and with ocean views, there are other options at a better rate.I know it’s rated 3 stars, however, I’ve stayed at a 3-star property in Curacao before and it was very clean and newly renovated for a better price for the same time of year. I agree, the location here in Lagun Blou is what you’re primarily paying for along with a spacious apartment, but I’m sad to say, I won’t be coming back here on my next Curacao trip.

This is a hard review to write. I love the location, the view, the garden,etc. The people who run the resort seem not that enthusiastic in running a hotel, to be honest. Hard to explain, but I will try. Checking in was more like a process than a welcome. Leaf blowing machine at 0730 in the morning (think about your guests pls). The interior of the accommodation was outdated (but clean!). Some small changes and it can really improve without spending much money. If you love what you do, they should notice this too! Think another review also mentioned this. I wounder if they even read these reviews. But I am not that negative: price/location is excellent.

This place almost got a solid 5 if the shower, Wi-Fi, and AC were in better condition. Besides that, I loved everything about it! It's a two-story unit with a kitchen, dining room, bathroom, living room, and patio on the first floor. Upstairs, there's a bedroom, bathroom, walk-in closet with a safe, and a large balcony. The downstairs didn't have an AC unit, but it didn't bother me. The grounds are peaceful, clean, and gorgeous. The view from my unit was priceless, and the massage was excellent. This place has become one of my top two favorite resorts on the island. When I move here, this is the resort I would choose for a getaway from the city.

Happy to have discovered this hidden gem on our trip to Curacao. The resort is beautiful and the rooms have all the basics but most importantly the tranquility of the location and sunset views were what captured our hearts.

We spent one night in Lagun Blou resort as a last minute decision after just a little bit of research and were completely (positively) surprised at how great this place is! The booking process was super smooth and the owners were extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming. The location is beautiful with views on the ocean and the resort is full of leafy trees giving a super calm vibe. Would highly recommend and will definitely come back some time!

The views and outdoor areas are incredible and almost completely make up for the lousy rooms. You are perched above high cliffs overlooking the most stunning ocean and sunset views. There are stairs down the cliffs to a fabulous little pier you can jump off and swim from.The resort is a five minute walk from a wonderful restaurant called Discover Lagun. And a not good restaurant called Bahia. And a 5 minute walk from the Playa Lagun beach which is our #1 ranked for snorkelling. It has hands down the biggest variety of fish from the ten-plus beaches we snorkelled at.Our room had numerous problems: bathroom had sewer gasses coming out of the drain and made the whole apartment almost unbearable. The upstairs shower head is broken. There is no coffee or coffee maker. The safe is mounted in the closet on a shelf in such a way that you can’t use it without a ladder (not provided lol). The front door is broken and only locks with a deadbolt.Basically only recommend this place if you spend 90% of your time outside the apartment. And only if they can fix their sewer issues.

Stayed here with my wife and 4 year old daughter. This is a great option in the northern part of the island. An amazing view with walkable access to Playa Lagun (Plus a pier to jump from and snorkel to it!), and easy drive to all of the beaches of the northwest. Accommodating and friendly staff. This is not an all-inclusive, luxury, catered to your every need kind of spot, but if you're looking for a unique option to experience the west you can't go wrong.

This was our second visit to Lagun Blou. Loved it so much the first time we brought 2 couples with us and stayed in the ocean view, 3 bedroom bungalow. The location overlooking the ocean is perfect. Walking along the “cliff” every morning and then lounging under a thatched roof umbrella was a perfect start to the day. Snorkeling Playa Lagun and other nearby coves was excellent. The staff is friendly and helpful and we enjoyed the breakfast by the pool. Sunsets are gorgeous.We love this place so much we are considering a vacation here with the grandkids soon!
