Riding in a recreational way, also for beginners
Rancho Alegre has been around since the 1970s and is located on the Groot Sint Michiel estate between Wechi and Malpais on the south side of the island of Curacao.
We offer the possibilities to ride a horse in a recreational way, not only for experienced riders but also for beginners who would like to ride a horse in a relaxed way.
The favorable location of the accommodation allows us to enjoy nature. The landscape is very varied. You drive between the mango trees, between the cacti and also through the dams where many gourd trees grow. You can enjoy the beautiful view from the hilltops. There are 1 hour rides. This is done under supervision and by appointment from Monday to Saturday.

Prefer wind over engine power? Rent our Tiki Sailboat (Centaur) for just $40/hour (min. 2 hours) and explore the Spanish Waters, Santa Barbara pier, and the mangroves in peace.

This 20 ft (6.2 m) keelboat has two sails and fits up to 4 people. Available only for experienced sailors—lessons available on request.

Equipped with front and rear storage, a large drybag, a detailed map with depths and mooring spots, a radio to contact base, and a GPS tracker.

Beautiful well cared for horses.
However, the advice is to wear long sleeves because the course is narrow/not very well maintained and has protruding needles that will scratch your arms if you do not wear long sleeves.

Fantastic ride for any level. The horses are super well taken care of as is the equipment. Not the typical nose to tail ride - the horses were spirited and well trained. We rode on the family reserve - gorgeous views, lots of beautiful birds. The farm is full of cool animals and nice to walk around and pet.

Had a nice ride with Sophie together with daughter (9). My daughter has 1/2 year of driving experience and I have none, except for the occasional holiday ride. The horses were sweet, easygoing and well cared for. Also doable for me with little experience in trotting. Nice to hear more about the area. Route: When you see the sign for Rancho alegre, you must immediately turn right. Google Maps didn't indicate it very well.

what a fantastic ride with my daughter! Horses super well cared for and we had a great outdoor ride here, highly recommended! Also lots of animals to see. We will definitely come back here again.

If you want to ride horses in Curaçao, this place is highly recommended! The ranch has a large area, so you only drive through nature. The owner takes your level into account, which is nice. So even as a beginner you can go here. Horses are sweet and very well cared for.
